Rogue Wave’s psycadellic EP comes tumbling out through a rather echoed recording – But there are some sweet pleasures to be had in the music.
The initial track isn’t much to write home about (or even in this review) but the follower ‘Lake Michigan’ has something to say and sounds like such a harmoneous tune. It is well timed and orchestrated. As the rest of the EP flows you can see the beginings of a really good album in the works. It takes all members present to make the songs sound so good. They don’t have the advantage/disadvantage (delete as applicable) of any member who stands out above the others.
A bit of sound engineering wouldn’t go amiss! But the song and music writing is spot on. Harmony is a word that best says it about how their results work on your ears.
