Lorraine – When I Return to the World

Norwegian ‘Lorraine’ stir echoes of James, U2 and Starsailor with their single ‘When I Return to the World’, a rampant onslaught of unashamedly good music. The abundance of flipside tracks strays from the formula somewhat, initially clawing at Climie Fisher memories with a less favourable second track ‘Beyond Sky’. WIRTTW twice suffers terribly at the hands of Camel Rider’s commonplace half assed dance remix action. The ripest fruit of labour being found in more accessible, patient tracks (in comparison to the other generic mixes) 4 & 6, each a MHC rework. All in all, the A side is sweet, the material backing up, not so sweet.
