With a week left until Liverpool Sound City launches, the schedule of events has been released for one of the most talked-about events of Liverpool’s Cultural calendar for 2008.
Across the 27th-30th May, Liverpool will be transformed as many of the city’s most famous (and infamous!) venues will host some of the world’s freshest new talent alongside home-grown acts, including many unsigned hopefuls. Some of the leading lights of cutting-edge music will perform, from Reverend and the Makers to Mystery Jets, The Wombats to Lightspeed Champion, and Laura Marling to Silver Jews.
Newly confirmed acts to Liverpool Sound City include Eugene McGuiness, The Metros, Make Model, iwasacubscout, The Whip, Santogold, Robots In Disguise and The Dykeenies.
And there will be over 100 unsigned bands playing, all who will be playing across the city during Liverpool Sound City.
Liverpool Sound City also features conferences and panels with seasoned veterans and younger voices offering their opinions and ruminations on everything from the classic Manchester v Liverpool debate to the future of music production and publishing.
It all adds up to Liverpool Sound City setting the agenda in Liverpool, the North West and the UK for four days and four nights of music, parties and debate which will open up Liverpool to your ears, your mind and your soul!
Glasswerk.co.uk will of course be there to report on the going’s on!
