The Maple State - For The Temperate Lives
Album Review

The Maple State – For The Temperate Lives

“Temperature Lives” is a single release taken from The Maple State’s recent EP release “Say, Scientist”. Having read their description as an energetic emo band and then listened to the slow anthemic “Temperature Lives” it was safe to say there was a little confusion, did we have the right band here?

But yes we did. This track tells the story of writing a song and blends simple acoustics with a shouting group chorus. It is the sort of song you’d expect to be a random experimental B-side from a band usually associated with more standard emo type music. Whether they want to branch out into new things, or are just genuinely chuffed with “Temperature Lives” they have made the choice to release it as a single in it’s own right. It remains to be seen if the risk pays off, but doing things a little differently usually does when starting out and this track is certainly nothing to be ashamed of.
