Sound City Opening Night!

The opening night of SoundCity saw a ‘who’s who’ of industry figures descend on Liverpool for the start of four days and nights of music.

Delegates and press gathered at the Beatles-themed Hard Day’s Night Hotel for the Conference Welcome.

Opening day events included the John Peel World Cup won by Rooftop Promotions and then a night to celebrate the legendary broadcaster was held at The Picket featuring The Farm, Ian McNabb and (Starsailor) to name a few.

The Carling Academy played host to lively sets from established acts like Does It Offend You, Yeah? and Hadouken!

Those looking for the ‘next big thing’ headed to gigs on Hardman Street and Seel Street. These sessions were interjected with some of the growing names in the industry including Laura Marling and The Mystery Jets plus a special John Power solo show at the Static Gallery.

The action packed opening night closed with a Late Night Session with The Whip at converted church Alma De Cuba.
