Sarabeth Tucek – Nobody Cares

Three little words: Three Crows Music. When Ethan Johns, producer behind records from Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams and Ray LaMontagne signs someone up to his own record label, you know you’re in for a treat. Sarabeth Tucek’s single, Nobody Cares, is an ironic take on those among us who care a little too much (think Aimee Mann, but smiley). Quick paced, not overly-produced and with backing vocals that take you all the way to San Francisco, this is almost pop but is saved from being too syrupy by good arrangement and cracking vocals.

Ambulance, the B-side is more typically alt-country and pushes her vocal style – soft yet authoritative – to the forefront. Her voice lacks the naked vulnerability of artists like Gillian Welch but this does not diminish her considerable talent.
