Joan As Police Woman – To Be Loved
Joan Wasser, aka Joan As Police Woman, has a perfectly pleasant voice and makes perfectly pleasant music, but there is little on To Be Loved to elevate her above a number of other female singer-songwriters.
I want to like this single, and feel that I should do on the basis of the smooth vocals and relaxing instrumentation, but nothing really grabs me and says ‘listen to this’. Forgettable is too strong a word, but To Be Loved is far from memorable.
