First off, Kudos for the band name, certainly a pun man’s wet dream. Then there are the songs, deviously dark layered electro-tinged indie. From the deliberately uneasy composition of ‘Men In White Coats’ to the driving delight of ‘Hooligan’, Dirty Weekend triumph.
The Stockton lads sit nicely between the commercial indie scene and the alt-rock rabble, with their diversity being their greatest appeal.
Being invited to play at this year’s Glastonbury festival shows good things are just around the corner for the Teesiders.
Everyone needs a Dirty Weekend to spice things up, but be warned, on this showing it could soon transpire into a full blown love affair.
