Another British band with bags of enthusiasm and passion but very little in the form of originality. Lead track ‘3’ is full of zeal and charm but it really is just a poor mans ‘Kings Of Leon’, the raspy vocals are just too similar, while they are obviously heavily influenced by ‘Kings of Leon’ as they are ‘Stereophonics’ they are far too heavily indebted to the sound and style of the said bands to grant anything other than light praise. ‘Another Night’ is just more of the same, it’s unoffensive and it has got a good tune to it but there’s just nothing new here, they give the ‘heard it all before’ saying a meaning of its own.
Whilst I am all for wearing your influences on your sleeve, the band just lack that vital ingredient of authenticity. They have got a lot more to offer than the majority of up and coming British bands, although perhaps more than anything this should be seen as a reflection on the current surge of young UK bands who are all looking for a fast track ticket to fame and fortune at the expense and fear of treading new and exciting ground musically.
