Edwyn Collins is back and ‘Home Again’ shows the Scottish crooner in a reflective and heartfelt mood. It’s a monologue on his last 24 months which has seen this troubadour experience some real lows in his personal life.
‘Home Again’ is a sombre affair, surrounding himself with his golden larynx and simply an acoustic guitar it’s the kinda moment that Johnny Cash or the tindersticks simply wallow in. Talking about the relevance of being back amongst the fray he seems humbled by having the chance to address his public and his army of fans. Let’s hope his rise in fortune is merely due to what he can do rather than what has been through previously and people aren’t feeling sorry for him which I am sure he would rebuke.
