Buena Vista Social Club – Chan Chan At Carnegie Hall
i think jazz/world music kinda washes over me. I struggle with the tempo of the whole format and this live number from Buena vista social club is no exception. Mixed and assembled in NYC the blend of mexican vocals / jazz horns and bongos is at best midpaced. There is no faulting the quality of the ensemble present and the arrangement but it’s background dinner-party music at best
