Stricken City – Tak O Tak

‘Tak O Tak’ is the debut single by English band Stricken City.

With an intro that feels like it’s about to burst into Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me”, this single has a distinctly 80’s feel to it. The Korg synthesizer plays out a hookline that’s now getting stuck in my head. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Singer Rebekah Raa has a vocal style on this single that, for me, is a mix of Kate Nash and Cyndi Lauper. This mixture of both modern and 80’s influence sums up the single. The synthesized sounds are mixed with a rolling drum beat and indie-pop guitar that makes you want to listen to it again.

This single is a good gauge of the bands other material. If you like indie-pop, then I’d say Stricken City is well worth a listen. Head over to [link], where you can listen to this single and more.

Enjoy it.
