I feel that they have chosen the wrong voice for the style of music they are playing. The vocal style might be better for more coldplay style songs. There is a good place in the song for the style, when the band stops and the vocals are solo, as it really works.
I did really enjoy the hook ‘what you waiting for’, as the vocals are really good here as they have some great harmonies.
The song is very popular in style and the piano gives it some good substance, however at times the drums are overbearing and not in keeping, I think the bass pedal is used too much.
I was however singing along by the end, which shows it could be a good successful song in the charts.
Overall the song is great but it really needs stronger vocals at times.
