Red Light Company – Meccano

London quintet Red Light Company are signed to Lavolta records, the label responsible for Liam Frost and the Slowdown Family, and make the same brand of polyphonic indie-rock as their Mancunian counterparts. Vocalist Richard Frenneaux is supported by a wealth of instrumentation to produce a controlled sound which imbues Red Light Company with a sense of maturity belying their youth.

Within the indie genre, where bands repeatedly get accused of unoriginality or a lack of versatility, Red Light Company manage to produce a sound that is original yet somehow familiar. If they can keep it up then they could well be on to a winner.
