In The City Presents The Fratellis In Manchester

London, September 19th 2008 – In The City 2008 – which this year takes place in Manchester on October 5th, 6th and 7th – is pleased to announce that it has teamed up with international live music and content specialists, All The Worlds and Nokia Music, to present an exclusive gig by acclaimed Glaswegian outfit, The Fratellis, which will mark the music industry convention’s closing event at The Manchester Academy on Tuesday 7th October. They will be supported by critically acclaimed newcomers, The Chapman Family.

Thanks to Nokia Music, this show will be exclusively mobile ticketed, which will allow fans to receive tickets electronically on their mobile phones in the form of a barcode that will be scanned at the venue upon entry. Subsequently, NO BOOKING FEE will be added to the fantastic £12.50 ticket price.

Tickets are on sale now exclusively through The Fratellis official website, link.

The Fratellis – Jon, Baz and Mince – formed in Glasgow in March 05, and have released two albums of “stadium-shaking riffs” (Uncut) – their multi-platinum debut, ‘Costello Music’ (2006), which spawned the monster hits ‘Creepin Up The Backstairs’, ‘Whistle For The Choir’ and the unintentional football anthem ‘Chelsea Dagger’ and this year’s “Here We Stand” (2008) featuring more “arena roof-raising choruses” (Q) such as ‘Mistress Mabel’ and ‘Look Out Sunshine’. Anyone lucky enough to have caught the Fratellis live at Glastonbury, T In The Park and Reading festivals over the summer will testify that the band are the essence of good times rock’n’roll.

In The City is the largest, city-based live music event in the world and, in addition to hosting ‘In The City Unsigned’ and ‘In The City Live’, is the place for UK and International labels to showcase their artists. On average more than 100,000 people attend In The City live events to see over 500 live bands and presentations from the coolest indie labels to sophisticated showcases from the world's most successful record companies.

Yvette Livesey, co-founder and Director of In The City said, “It’s a real pleasure to welcome back The Fratellis, who performed as part of In The City Unsigned 2005 to close our event this year and thanks go to Nokia, for providing fans with mobile ticketing. I’m really excited about the live side of our activities this year and this show is the icing on the cake.”
