OXEGEN Shortlisted For ‘Best European Festival’

OXEGEN is in the running for ‘The Yourope Award for Best European Festival’ at the prestigious UK Festival Awards.

Fans from around Europe have been voting over the last couple of weeks to determine who wins the prestigious prize with over 50 European festivals competing and 200,000 votes cast to date.

Thanks to the support of the Irish festival going public, OXEGEN has made the final shortlist of 15 festivals.

A host of OXEGEN 08 acts are also up for various awards including headliners Rage Against The Machine and Kings Of Leon and fans are also encouraged to support all those artists who made their Punchestown weekend so memorable.

Voting closes on 20th October and the winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the IndigO2, London, on October 30th. Every voter will also be entered in to a draw for the chance to win the ultimate live music prize – tickets to every winning festival at this year’s awards.

OXEGEN returns to Punchestown Racecourse, Co Kildare from 10th-12th July 2009 (subject to licence) and a limited number of early-bird 3 day weekend with camping tickets at 2008 ticket prices are currently on sale. For more details, visit ticketmaster.ie
