Jazz and funk legend Herbie Hancock is among the artists confirmed for the Heineken Green Synergy event, which takes place in various venues around Dublin this November.
In addition to his own string of successful records, Hancock is one of the most widely-sampled artists of all time. Only James Brown has been sampled more on modern hiphop, funk and dance hits. He plays Tripod on Nov 12.
Herbie also plays the Savoy in Cork on Tuesday November 11. Tickets for the Cork show cost €40 and booking fee.
Other leading acts confirmed for Heineken Green Synergy include Toronto based Warp Records indie darlings Born Ruffians, who are making their Irish debut (Whelan's Fri Nov 14); Akil the MC (Whelan's Upstairs, Nov 14); Adrian Crowley (Whelan's Sat Nov 15); Q aka Colm Quearney (Whelan's Upstairs, Nov 15); Le Galaxie and The Presets (The Village, Sun 16) and The Urges and Jay Reatard (Whelan's Upstairs, Nov 16).
There is also the highly anticipated Bestival Reunion Tour, which hits Tripod on Fri Nov 14.
