Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, £’s go away…

Is it too early to write a Christmas themed editorial? I rather think we have been restrained in not mentioning Christmas yet. I was out of the office for a couple of days a week or so ago and reports are that Christmas songs and carols were the musical themes in my absence. Am not a scrooge or a mean boss or anything, but they haven’t been heard since I’ve been back.

Nor am I particularly going to whinge about the over commercialism of Christmas. Yes the true meaning of Crimbo can be lost amongst the glitz and glamour, but the basic secular message of Noel is love, peace, celebration and happiness. Generally this involves meeting up and congregating with family and friends who have similar minded ideals, thoughts and feelings. This generally involves social situation such as parties, nights out on the town, gigs…

… I mean it’s not like I can actually argue against that this year, when we have about 17 thousand Christmas Parties going on. Shall I list them? The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster in London and Liverpool. The very last and final Dickensian Disco in Manchester is also our Manc Crimbo show. 20th Dec at Bumper is Club Glasswerk’s Liverpool Christmas show (line-up to be confirmed as Kieran hasn’t booked it yet – maybe he is keeping it a surprise for me to open on Christmas Day?). Bobbie Peru @ Jabez Clegg in Manchester. Then we also have the 2 day, 3 stage Festivus MMVIII on the 27, 28th Dec @ Barfly, Liverpool. I haven’t even looked at London’s diary yet either… and I am assuming they have a couple of festive gigs happening.

Things on the site.. Pete And The Pirates, Feeder, Rod Thomas, Howling Bells, Video Nasties.

Anyway, this is not Leanne Editor writing this – its Mat Head Promoter high jacking the editorial for my own selfish Christmas commercial needs. I bet Leanne will be gutted that I have nicked the Christmas editorial as well, oh well.
