Everything Everything – Suffragette Suffragette

‘Suffragette, Suffragette’ is almost ridiculously catchy. This is a song that will have you repeatedly confronting your friends, face passionately crumpled, fist shaking and voice box struggling, with that eternal question ‘who’s gonna sit on your face when I’m gone?’

Their levels of frustration will reach boiling point, those with whom you share living quarters will seriously consider moving out, or removing you from the premises, or even mild ‘lesson teaching’ violence. The only solution is to introduce them, no doubt reluctantly, to the dangerously addictive source which spawned such behaviour.

Their reaction, unless completely numb and decaying inside, will mirror yours completely, whether they enjoy the experience or not. I myself, and luckily for my health, all who have had to endure my yelping fell willingly victim to this insatiably funky pop record.

It is difficult to make comparisons with Everything, Everything, A band who, on this track, one moment echo the panicky impressive vocals of Wild Beasts then seconds later burst into a heavy rage-esque rift before slipping in comfortably some fantastically funky rhythmic beats more reminiscent of Prince.

Not unlike Of Montreal the band have torn up the pop song structure rule book and replaced it with a mathematically crafted gospel of their own.

Everything, Everything deserve all the attention they are receiving from MTV2 and radio one.

Suffragette, Suffragette sounds like Quincy Jones producing the future heads. Great harmonies funky, intelligent compositions, obscure lyrics and more exciting than any other pop record out there at the moment. This is a highly addictive substance you should say yes to!

‘Suffragette, Suffragette’ is now available on I tunes.
