Pete Doherty is reportedly set to perform a number of Who songs with Roger Daltrey at a gig in Bristol in January.
Daltrey reportedly invited Doherty to collaborate on a live show after seeing the Babyshambler perform at the wake of a young cancer sufferer this summer. The former Libertine had got to know teenage fan Daniel Squires after learning of his illness, and had dedicated songs to him at gigs while he was still alive. After learning of Squire's death, Doherty asked if he could play a few songs at his wake, which he did.
A source told reporters: “Roger was really impressed and touched when Pete performed for Daniel. He has told Pete to choose a list of Who songs and they will perform them together. They are both really excited”.
Daltrey, of course, is a big supporter of the Teenage Cancer Trust, and the gig with Doherty will be held in aid of the charity.
