Katy Perry Annouces Extra Tour Dates
Following her sold out February Live dates, Katy Perry announces another UK tour for June 2009.
If Lucille Ball had a secret love child with Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, it would look, sound, and behave like Katy Perry. The 24 year old L.A-based singer-songwriter's sassy confidence and feisty confessional songs have helped her conquer the world's charts and airwaves.
Katy marked her entrance this summer with the anthem “I Kissed A Girl” which instantly established her as the brightest new pop artist to emerge in 2008. Some may have questioned whether Katy Perry could follow up that success but with her recent hit single “Hot n Cold” she proved without a doubt that she is no one hit wonder. Both songs come from her outstanding debut album 'One Of The Boys', a sharp and witty pop-rock gem filled with candid tales of neurotic ex-boyfriends, crazy road trips with friends and figuring out who you are along the way.
Katy made such a powerful impression on MTV that they duly invited her to host this years illustrious MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool. She treated everyone to a colourful and flamboyant performance and won the award for “Best New Act” to boot.
More recently, Katy has been nominated for 'Best Female Pop Vocal Performance' at the prestigious 2009 Grammy's. Is there no stopping this girl?
