Coldplay's 'Shiver' heavily influenced by Jeff Buckley

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has admitted that one of the band's early songs was heavily influenced by Jeff Buckley.

In an interview with the BBC, Martin said single 'Shiver', realeased in 2000, was “a blatant Jeff Buckley attempt.”

“Not quite as good, that's what I think. We were 21 and he was very much a hero, and as with those things it tends to filter through,” Martin added.

In the same interview, the singer went on to say he would give their recent London 02 arena shows “3 out of 10”, believing that they could have been better.
