Glasgow’s Attic Lights have re-recorded a version of I Could Be So Good For You to be used as the theme tune on the forthcoming new series of Minder, which is set to start on channel FIVE in early February 2009.
Originally recorded by Dennis Waterman for the much-loved series, which starred Waterman & George Cole in the ‘80’s, the new version will be backed by Late Night Sunshine, lifted from their debut album Friday Night Lights, which was released in September of last year to rave reviews.
The single will be available digitally on January 12th 2009 and then get a physical release on February 16th.
The new six-part series of Minder stars Shane Richie who plays Archie Daley, Arthur Daley’s nephew and Lex Shrapnel as ‘minder’ Jamie, both of whom appear in the video for the single.
The new series up-dates and revises the spirit of the original series for a modern day audience. With London very much at the core of the new series, each hour-long episode will also feature guest stars and cameo appearances from a range of great British acting talent.
The band have recently also released a charity Christmas single, Santa’s Girlfriend, with Cerys Matthews having completed a tour with Matthews & Paul Heaton in December 2008.
