The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Pendulum and The Ting Tings are the first of many acts to be confirmed for the Isle of Wight Festival 2009. Taking to the main stage on Friday 12th June, these show-stealing acts will kick off the first major festival this summer, with the most electric party the island has ever seen!
Taking place over three days from 12 – 14 June 2009, the Isle of Wight Festival promises to be the highlight of the summer with more exciting acts soon to be announced for the Saturday and Sunday night line-ups. Previous artists at the festival have included rock legends such as Bob Dylan, the Doors, and Jimi Hendrix, who gave his last ever performance there in 1970. Modern legends, the Foo Fighters, Amy Winehouse and Coldplay have also taken to the stage and wowed the festival crowds over recent years.
Voted Best Major Festival in 2007, the Isle of Wight Festival was shortlisted in no fewer than four categories in the 2008 UK Festival Awards, and with last year’s festival selling out in record time, festival-goers should book early to avoid disappointment.
