'Tomorrow' is the third single to be taken from the current Ladytron album, Velocifero, and is in many ways the standout choice for a single release. Remixed by renowned producer Jim Abbiss (who also worked with the band on their acclaimed 2005 album, Witching Hour), the song now shimmers with extra layers of gleaming synthesizers and has a truly memorable chorus.
Velocifero was released in June 2008 and was hailed by many publications as the group’s most accomplished opus to date. Recorded in Paris, it expanded on the heavyweight synth-pop template established on previous releases such as the aforementioned Witching Hour. The album was produced by Ladytron with Vicarious Bliss (Ed Banger Records) and Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails).
Ladytron – Helen Marnie, Mira Aroyo, Daniel Hunt and Reuben Wu – spent much of 2008 on a world tour, which will continue into 2009. November saw a full UK tour (14 dates) following a shorter run of UK shows prior to the release of the album.
The band have just confirmed an Eastern European tour with Depeche Mode in May, which will be preceded by a South American headlining tour and a co-headlining US tour with The Faint. June will then see them play shows with Brian Eno in Australia at the Sydney Opera House. Further shows and festivals will be announced imminently.
They are currently warming up for all this activity by writing songs with Christina Aguilera for her new album. This has entailed visits to her LA home, which was previously owned by Ozzy Osbourne.
