A recent “Hottest Record of the Week” on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show, ‘Work It Out’ is a fine commentary on the ups and downs of modern day love affairs – breaking up and making up – all set to an array of funked up electronics, rhythmic guitars and vocodered backing vocals. Remixes come care of genre bending Sinden and the eclectic The Very Best (Esau Mwamwaya & Radioclit).
A series of one off live shows in January sets the pace and leads nicely into opening for the Kaiser Chiefs on their 2009 arena tour along with Black Kids. April will see Ben & Co. take to the stage up and down the UK and a full headline tour from April 16.
Internationally, Esser’s recordings will be released via Chocolate Industries (The Cool Kids et al) in the U.S. On the production front, Esser has been busying his hands and musical mind with the likes of I Blame Coco, Cee Lo and Little Boots. No wonder the attention on this homegrown pop-boy with the haircut is growing by the day.
The debut album will be released May 2009
