Cut Copy – Far Away

As soon as the opening chords of Far Away start to play, it feels as if you have travelled back in time twenty years. Cut Copy have managed to recreate the sound of The Human League, mixed with vocals that sound very reminiscent of Spandau Ballet, if you are in search of eighties revival then this band is definitely your Holy Grail.

The title track is followed by a remix that doesn’t manage to achieve anything new. The following tracks are full of synth fueled experimentation, the melodies are so incessant in the way that they take over your thoughts that I have found it impossible to find anything likable about this band. I can only recommend them if you really are looking to revisit 1983.
