V V first came to attention after landing a slot on Later With Jools Holland a month upfront of the release of the limited 7” vinyl “Crying Blood”. The taster track won V V lots of admirers including Damon Albarn who invited her to perform on his Africa Exprez adventure in Lagos.
Her recent performance on ‘The Sunday Night Project’ caused Alan Carr, Justin Lee Collins and guest presenter James Corden to dance on the table to “Crying Blood”!

Indeed “Crying Blood” is to be featured in the opening credits of James Corden and fellow Gavin & Stacey star Matthew Horne’s upcoming film debut “Lesbian Vampire Killers” which is due for release in cinemas on March 20th.

The Northampton born, London based artist, writes and produces all her own music. Her debut album, “Travelling Like The Light” scheduled for release in May, is a perfect introduction to the 24-year old’s sound which she variously describes as “indie doo-wop/musical mashed potatoes”. In V V‘s world, love sounds like the perfect melody. Both are difficult to define she says, but both pour out of the songs on her debut album. “It’s about letting out all these ideas I’ve had locked up in my mind,” Brown states. “It’s honest – it’s not about being festooned with £10m diamonds or having perfect hair.” Speaking of the inspiration behind “Leave !” V V says “Leave is about being intoxicated and confused by being in love and the conflict between listening to your heart and your mind.”
