Last week we had the Grammys, this week we have our very own equivalent, the Brits. However, the Brits only have fourteen categories which is just slightly less than the Grammys and far less obscure. This years event is being hosted by the ever popular James Corden & Matthew Horne, along with the lovable Kylie Minogue. There are scheduled performances from the likes of Coldplay, Duffy, Estelle, the Ting Tings, Girls Aloud, Kings Of Leon, Take That, and U2.
The recipients of this years 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' award, the Pet Shop Boys, will also perform. This years Brits Critics' Choice Award goes to the hotly tipped Florence And The Machine. As you may remember, last years winner was Adele who has had a very successful year. Adele is nominated in this years category for Best British Female Solo Artist and Best British Breakthrough Act. The Brits is also known for unique collaborations, highlights of previous shows have been PJ Harvey & Bjork performing 'Satisfaction' and more recently, Rihanna & The Klaxons performing 'Umberella'. So, hopefully this year will pull out a few more stellar collaborations.
On the site this week we have Shinedown as our featured artist, so give 'em a whirl. There's plenty of news, reviews and hot new videos and we also have an interview with Grammy winners Robert Plant & Alison Krauss.
If that's not enough we have many Glasswerk gigs you can get yourselves along to. There's, The Glitterati, New Rhodes album launch, Will And The People, The Ghost Frequency, Ipso Facto and The Bishops.
