SomaHigh – Low Fat

Southerners SomaHigh have come up with a gem of a single in ‘Low Fat’. A cracking three minutes of disco beats and raucous guitars all held together by a deliriously catchy chorus. Whilst ‘Low Fat’ is the immediate aural head-butt that grabs your attention its ‘End of The Line’ that really showcases what this band is about. The verses are all swirling electro beats and blips before morphing into a magnificent chorus. Think Muse if the Cure had heavily influenced them rather than Radiohead.

Whilst the band certainly have talent it remains to be seen whether they will make much of a dent in an electro rock genre that is becoming increasingly saturated. It would be a shame if the masses were to miss out on SomaHigh’s brooding, feisty music.
