Magic Arm – Bootsy Bootsy

Manchester multi instrumentalist Marc Rigelsford AKA Magic Arm is doing his best to pre-empt the spring with his new EP of folk pop.
Title track ‘Bootsy Bootsy’ is a cheerful, charming little number with a nice juxtaposition of Marc’s delicate choruses with some heavy drums and electro reverb. Powerful instrumental ‘My My’ and more melancholy ‘Said Things’ show his musical range, while a misjudged cover of LCD Soundsystem’s Daft Punk is Playing at My House’ loses all the original’s house-party vibrancy, but a bouncy Real Dolls remix of ‘Bootsy Bootsy’ redresses the balance in favour of fun.
