Twisted Wheel will release a new single 'We Are Us' on April 6th on Columbia Records, taken from their self-titled debut album which follows on April 13th.
Recorded in LA, far from their Oldham-home with producer Dave Sardy (Oasis/Marilyn Manson), Twisted Wheel's debut album is a frenetic and explosive collection of wide-eyed garage rock songs, dripping with sweaty snarling punk attitude and Northern swagger. It is the sound of a band who have progressed beyond their early indie comparisons and evolved into one of the most driven and ferocious live acts around. Already established as an anthemic live favourite, 'We Are Us' will be available to fans online from Monday 2nd March on CD/7and available to buy at all dates on their extensive tour. The single is backed by a series of new tracks, including 'Stacey', 'Menace' and live and acoustic versions of 'We Are Us’. The B-sides will be on general digital release from 5th April.
Twisted Wheel have quickly earned themselves a reputation as one of the hardest working young touring bands around and also as the band of choice for today’s acts to play with. Since signing to Columbia the band have been winning over the UK in the old fashioned sense, playing well in excess of 100 live shows including support tours as special guests to Oasis, Ian Brown, The View, Pigeon Detectives, The Courteeners, Reverend & The Makers and shows with Kasabian, The Rascals, The Coral & The Happy Mondays. All of this coupled with several headline jaunts across the country and triumphant festival appearances at Reading/Leeds, T-In the Park, Oxygen and Radio 1 Big Weekend.
2009 already see’s no let up in the proceedings with the band already having supported Oasis at arena’s throughout Western Europe and completed their first full headline European tour of their own. Twisted Wheel are also confirmed as special guests to The Enemy throughout March & April, A lightening French club blitz with Friendly Fires & The Secret Machines this Month, and confirmed as support on several of Oasis’ outdoor stadium shows and to open for Paul Weller on his outdoor forest tour this Summer. With more headline dates scheduled to be added over the coming months, Twisted Wheel look set to own the road in 2009.
