Brakes – Hey Hey

Hey Hey has the kind of take no prisoners approach of thrashing away right from the get go. Just to give it that funky jazz though, it has many a pause to let the lead singer do his thing before crashing away at the guitars again.
The second track is hilarious. It’s literally like 5 seconds long and consists of a crash of the guitar and a quick vocal ramble.
The final track “Set a Course” is a much more peaceful tune altogether. Opening in a fashion reminiscent of Scott McKenzie’s “San Fransisco.”
So an interesting band, if a little all over the shop.
