Bell X1 – Blue Lights On The Runway

Been around the block and back, Bell X1 now bring us a quite thoughtful compilation of music. There are rings here and there of music of old, but it remains true to itself and doesn’t ever become a pastiche of anything contrived.

There is a familiarity about it all and recalls back to some of the funkier sounding bands of the 80’s like “Talking Heads.” But there is elegance as well amid the more lively aspects of the album. The constant change in tempo keeps it exciting, classy and interesting.

This band may have been around for the better part of two decades but they have no problems matching and in many cases surpassing their contemporary brothers and sisters.
