Marmaduke Duke – Rubber Lover
80’s Spandau Ballet spirit kidnapping prog’/pop snippet of ‘Rubber Lover’, is a snazzy yet low-key vocal propelled song that will probably achieve the aim set out by Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) and JP Reid (Sucioperro), of raising ears ahead of their second album, ‘Pandemonium’ (due out 04/05/09).
Rhythm rustling guitars and electro slanting helps the downbeat vocals get their message across, which seems to be about being funky and slightly horny. Therefore, even if this single doesn’t take off, there’s always the possibility of this Scottish pair penning lyrics for Coldcut, before returning to their day jobs.
