Wilmslow’s finest Doves hit full stride with “Kingdom of Rust”, the lead single from their latest long player of the same name.
These indie rockers have been getting steadily better since their unassuming introduction rising from the ashes of Sub Sub, and now present themselves with a confidence prevalent in bands that know what they are doing.
They swagger through this latest grower, throwing in elements of the wild west – we’re talking the harder side of Johnny Cash folk here – and some mean strings, culminating in an all guns blazing rock out by records end. Good stuff this.
