As exhilarating as the music can sound, The Hours manage to hit the nail right on the head in this glorious fit into the world of modern independent music. They even managed to get a bit of Damien Hirst artwork for the album cover image (no it isn’t a split in half calf).
This is easily the type of music you can see going down a storm at festivals – although I haven’t seen their names on any bills yet. And anyone forming the music at these festivals need to check this band out as they have so many songs that are just waiting to be played to a large crowd. Unifying and ultimately satisfying in every way.
There are heavy Jazz piano elements, but they also bring so much soul to the album and are lead along the way by a great sounding frontman. The Hours are out there ticking away, but it will only take you a matter of minutes to check them out and decide for yourself. Could they be the next big thing? It’s very possible.
