Son Of Dave covers Daft Punk

Fresh from his live session on Radcliffe and Maconie’s BBC Radio 2 show, Son of Dave strikes back with new single, video and official UK Tour.

Son of Dave shows himself as something of a maverick with this new single, lambasting one of the world’s most iconic retail brands in a stab at wanton consumerism whilst simultaneously cranking out a sing-along anti-branding anthem.

‘Ain’t going to Nike Town’ is the third single to be pulled from Son of Dave’s highly acclaimed album of 2008 titled “O3”. ‘Ain’t going to Nike Town’ is set for release on May 11th 2009 and will be accompanied by a superbly crafted and animated video from producer Alex Amelines.

Although never originally intended as a radio single, ‘…Nike Town’ has emerged as a favourite from the album amongst UK press and radio and even celebrated novelist Nick Hornby, who included it in his top 10 tracks for 2008 in the New York Times. Hence Son of Dave decided to re-work the song and after much fidgeting, assessment and alteration, ‘Ain’t going to Nike Town’ has emerged as a shiny stand alone pop anthem with a timely message for crunchy 2009.
