Spongebob Add To Camp Bestival Line-Up

Camp Bestival are pleased as punch to announce that yet another legend has been added to our jam-packed Camp Bestival bill – Yes joining icons such as PJ Harvey, Chic, Roy Ayers and Mr Tumble we have the underwater superstar that is SpongeBob SquarePants!!!

Yes setting up camp in our Dorset home this year are Nickelodeon UK who will be recreating SpongeBob’s magical underwater world Bikini Bottom in a new interactive play space for kids. Alongside another 100 Free Things for Kids To Do this amazing new zone promises to bring the wonderful Technicolor fantasy world to life – one for Kids and Adults alike (Lets face it “Yellow is the new Black!!”).

With SpongeBob’s 10th birthday on the horizon 2009 has been named ‘The Year of the Sponge’ and Camp Bestival, home of summer holiday fun for all ages was his first choice to culminate celebrations, obviously! You can chill out with friends and family, catch up with some classic SpongeBob adventures, take part in spongetastic interactive games hosted by the Bikini Bottom lifeguard and even meet SpongeBob SquarePants himself!

And the entertainment doesn’t stop there .. Also bringing an air of grace and finesse to proceedings this year we have the English National Ballet and Angelina Ballerina's Big Audition in the Big Top on Sunday. Camp Bestivalers can meet the amazing ballerinas and participate in workshops with the dancers over the weekend – don’t feel you have to be a dancer, anyone can have a go!

And of course there’s even more great music and new to the fray are Dorset Unsigned Music Award winners Achilles, chosen by Rob da Bank at the recent hoedown.
After a night of music and Dorset fun Rob commented: “I was a judge at the Dorset Unsigned Music Awards at the weekend. I got to choose one of 5 bands to play at Camp Bestival and I chose who would play on the main stage. Achilles sound like DJ Shadow gone West Country! They were delighted and we drunk champers.”
Also new additions to the line up of joy include folk wunderkind Nancy Elizabeth, performance poet and Scroobius Pip's tip for the top Gideon Conn, plus local boys Coopers Rage and Sonic Glitch.

Camp Bestival have also pioneered a unique recession-beating ticket payment plan. For more info, visit link
