“Nihilistic post-britrock… electro-rock and roll at it's flammable best!” The Guardian
THIS IS RADIO FREEDOM return with a fierce new single ‘Family Man’, a song about the pull of a woman that you know you shouldn’t chase, but can’t help yourself…
An 80s style kaleidoscope of indie guitar riffs and electro samples bring forth the vigorous guillotine of ‘Family Man’, released on June 8th on Sidewalk 7.
Produced by Junk Scientist, ‘Family Man’ is a track that encompasses the swagger of the Stone Roses and the menace of Joy Division. A chance meeting with Dan Le Sac through mutual friends at a gig in Cardiff; a conversation about a change in direction for THIS IS RADIO FREEDOM and the outcome is a remix of ‘Family Man’, heavily infused with electro undertones – certain to get the clubs moving.
The past year has seen THIS IS RADIO FREEDOM gain steady support from XFM and Kerrang Radio for the last EP, as well as a tour across USA & Canada. Picked up by over 280 college radio stations and synced across a number of TV stations (including MTV USA), the band have also played a number of European dates including support slots with Primal Scream, Echo and The Bunnymen, and The Bees.
This Is Radio Freedom are currently in the studio recording their debut album, which in a time of action and reform will bring a clear message of intention and debate when it is released later this summer. This band have to something to say in a time when intelligent spokespeople are required to clear the fog that has for too long clouded the way.
