12 Stone Toddler – Batten Down The Hatches

The first half of this double A-side, from 12ST’s triumphant second album Scheming, is a gleefully unhinged pop jaunt with its chunky vocal hooks and eccentrically-timed chorus. “Broken Hearts and Battle Scars” is more of the same, Chris Otero’s vocals are irrepressibly deranged yet accomplished with a bluesy edge and the bass-heavy mix enhances a goofy, joyful sound.

12 Stone Toddler are a big fat party animal of a band; they’ll no doubt win a lot of friends with their catchy ways and winning choruses.
