Black Lips – I’l Be With You

Many bands of today’s age find it hard to come up with new sounds as thanks to the conventions of Rock n’ Roll – there is only so far you can push it… Or so we think anyway.

The future will tell all. So with all this art and work having been done before a good old retread of beloved sounds and eras of music seems to keep people happy. Punk, classic rock.. and now by the looks of it.. a real Pre-Beatles Rock n’ Roll sound of the early 50’s according to the Black Lips. Taking a leaf from the era of Buddy holly and friends, their sweet and simple tune “I’ll be with you” even comes with a degraded sound quality.

It’s nice that they are keeping such a sound alive as the generations pass on there are fewer and fewer perhaps followers. But all it takes is a modern band to bring it back to life. Here they are and as this is a single release they seem to have succeeded so far.
