Electro-rockers This is Radio Freedom have struck up a decent enough balance between the electro and the rockin’ on this latest single. “Family Man”’s opening chorus and verse are reserved and muted – just the chugging guitar and vocals, the chorus barely defined in the production – before the electro kicks in and the synth work and delay effects up the ante. Around the two minute mark everybody rocks out and the tension that’s been building steadily is released quite exhilaratingly. Come the reprise, the simple, driving chorus should be welded firmly into your consciousness.
It’s all very good fun, if lacking something in the way of originality in the current snyth-heavy climate; hopefully the infectiousness of “Family Man” alone will help propel Radio Freedom on to bigger things.
