The Rakes

The Rakes released new single ‘That’s The Reason’ on June 01 2009 through V2. ‘That’s The Reason’ is taken from the bands third album ‘Klang’ and will be released as a digital download only. Both single and album were recorded at Planet Roc Studios in Berlin and produced by Chris Zane (Les Savy Fav, The Walkmen, Passion Pit). Klang is the bands most critically acclaimed album to date receiving rave reviews across the board.

The Rakes have also announced a UK tour for October. Dates are as follows:

26 – Cockpit, Leeds

27 – Thekla, Bristol

28 – Academy 2, Birmingham

29 – Forum, London

On working with producer Chris Zane, Alan Donohoe adds: “The album is raw, playful, exciting, complex and schizophrenic – much like the personality of Berlin itself. It couldn't be more of a fitting place to record it.”

KLANG is the follow-up to the highly acclaimed albums Capture/Release (2005) and Ten New Messages (2007).
