Filthy Dukes have confirmed their next single will be Messages – the most unashamed pop moment from their debut album Nonsense in the Dark, and follow-up to the disco-noir club hit This Rhythm.
Filthy Dukes’ Olly Dixon says: “Messages is our big pop moment. We finished it very quickly and Tommy wrote this massive chorus in about 4 hours. It scared the shit out of us at first, so we tried some dirtier versions but we always came back to the fact that it is just a big fun pop record. We have embraced the pop now and love it.” He talks a bit about more it with BBC News today.
Featuring Tommy Sparks on vocals, Messages is released on 6th July with surefire remixes in the can from Kris Menace, Burns, Brookes Brothers, We Have Band, Stop Making Me and the Dukes’ own Kill Em All alternate version. The Dukes continue to turn out top class remixes under the Kill Em All guise, most recently for Lady Gaga, The Temper Trap, Hockey and White Lies.
If that weren’t enough, Filthy Dukes are set to be unavoidable this summer. Expect to see them in a pub, club or field near you soon. The full dates are:
