Black Sabbath – The Best Of Black Sabbath

Wow! A review that can only write itself. “The Best of Black Sabbath.” It opens with “Paranoid”… yes it includes songs like “War Pigs” and “Iron Man.” So what is there really left to say about such a release other than Sabbathers will nit pick over maybe the odd choice of songs on the album, and even those omitted for this 14 tracker.

For future generations and to those not familiar with their work, this is perhaps a good way, like any best of album, for dipping your toes in untested water. If you don’t react well to this collection then you are not likely to want to go and buy their back catalogue either.

But with a band this well known it’s hardly going to be the last collective CD ever released unless the world goes up and takes music with it. I’m sure that even after the apocalypse the world won’t be without an “Ozzy” left roaming the world. Only that one will have an excuse for his behaviour.
