Pete Doherty pleaded guilty to charges of heroin possession and driving without a licence or insurance, at Stroud Magistrates Court on Friday, following his previously reported arrest in Gloucester after he played a solo gig in the town last week. The singer was released on £50,000 bail and given a curfew order.
His lawyer, Peter Radcliff, told the court: “My client would firstly like to express his disappointment in himself and disappointment that he has let his fans down. He has been out of trouble for over a year and a break of 14 months represents a real achievement for someone with a drug dependency. This offence represents an aberration. There has been a very real and very significant change in his behaviour”.
