Noel Gallagher has criticised “cheeky” fans that have pursued his offer of a refund after the band’s troublesome Heaton Park concert earlier this month.
After technical problems plagued the show, Gallagher announced that, “Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund.” Almost one third of the 70,000 audience want to take up the offer.
If all 70,000 had requested their £45 back, Oasis would have lost £3m. It's estimated that refunding the 20,000 tickets would cost the band around £1 million.
The Oasis front man slated the fans on his blog by writing, “It seems that around 20,000 of you have asked for a refund from that night at Heaton Park,”
“20,000! So you were genuinely disappointed? “I don't recall seeing a 20,000 gap in the crowd. Cheeky c***s. Tsk… some people.”
