Michael Eavis (73) has dismissed reports that he is going to retire from organising Glastonbury next year.
His daughter Emily has become more involved in the running of the event in recent years, but she claims that he will “never retire”.
Mr Eavis told BBC 6 Music: “I said I'll be finishing in 2021. So I'll be 81 by then.”
“(Handing over to Emily) has been a very gradual process but that's been going on since she was 12. Now she's 29, so in another 10 years she'll be perfect,” he said.
Emily Evis has also announced that tributes will be held for Michael Jackson, who died last night (26 june).
Writing on the official Glastonbury Twitter page, Eavis explained that tributes would be paid, but did not reveal specific details.
“So sad to hear the news about MJ,” she wrote. “There will be tributes all over the site all weekend. A truly great artist. Emily.”
