They have managed to promote a few EP’s now since 2006, but this is paper Route’s first album and it’s a satisfying blend of orchestral rock and modern pop indie. There are layers of trip-hop and electronica that help with the mix.
The track “Good Intentions” is a literal perfect example of all these elements coming together to form a well defined song. What is refreshing about this album is that it never lingers on the same tempo for long. Up and down it goes, but never round and round. They more subtle work is very beautiful, and would perhaps make for a completely different album if they dared to split the two from each other.
That is to say that paper Route is a band of many parts, and by and large they are all successful. Infusion is what the band should be called as they have managed to meld so much here into a whole, picking a direction to go in might seem to be their biggest decision to make for their next release.
